You’re preaching to the choir. Thankfully I can’t remember much of it because I spent so much time and energy just surviving it. The Asperger’s I learned to work around; the peer abuse (bullying) I suffered…that’s another story.

I learned the police can arrive in 7.25 minutes, as measured by the chem lab chronometer. Juvie takes longer.

Meanwhile, all her teachers are in the nearest bar, where they will sit (and drink) until the school year (and Danae) have been erased from their memories…

Are Americans really out of school the end of May/start of June? Man that’s a short school year? Ours ends end of June, back at the end of August, before the Labour Day weekend.

It’s a good time of year to be a teacher…

good memories vs good memories without explosions. hmm.got the feeling the former group is the smaller one.

i blew up after school and beat the crap out of my lab,math and gym teacher. he never pulled sideburns again.

“Bleak” is an understatement. I know the thousand-yard stare all too well; I see it in the mirror every day. According to the DSM-IV-TR I meet all six criteria for posttraumatic stress disorder from what I went through. And all because of being bullied around.

Back on the comic’s subject, I do have one fond memory of an explosion at school. Anyone who’s seen “Mythbusters” knows that Mentos as diet soda can be…volatile.

School – shall we wax poetic about dealing with other kids in situations that were frequently undersupervised, where you get to find out if you’re a smart geek who kids can pick on, or would it be better to reminisce about the teachers who could teach something that was interesting and somehow render it boring? Then there were the teachers who forced even the sensitive kids to read books and stories that would never really be forgotten because they weren’t exactly happy stories. To be fair, there were some good teachers, too.
