I have this one friend named Nancy, and I always pronounce it “Nencih”, like the relatives from the old country.

December 7 – the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor – is right around the corner. Let us not forget that, once upon a time, Nancy and friends remembered events of that magnitude. Indeed, with 100 years of history behind them, Nancy, Sluggo, Aunt Fritzi and Phil were all there for the original event. Movie theaters of that time period had public service announcements, which included Nancy and friends singing and dancing to encourage movie patrons to support the troops.
