Panel 1, who caught the kid’s attention, the girl with the antennae, or the one with the “empty eyes”?

I always thought the extras weren’t supposed to be showing their faces!

    Doh! It’s a cartoon!

    I forgot!

    Ruh Roh!

    Good morning™, everyone!

I wonder if they went to the college for the journalism “summer” course. The various background people look like they could be college students. In any case, Honeymoon is smart not to put them in danger by going straight to contacting Prof. Stokes. She will contact her Pop Pop, Dick Tracy first.

That counts as a Dick Tracy day, even though he is only talked about. That makes two days for Brenda, two days for Tracy (and a lot of days for Stokes). Sorry to say that it’s another talk day, but at least there is a long shot in the third frame, a guaranteed workable solution, according to Wally Woods.

I can’t get over Annie’s empty eyes. Please, Mike, put pupils in her eyes, hollow eyes are creepy!

Good morning™, babes on campus !

These ladies are head turners and they’re not even “prime” age yet. Even though this meeting with the prof looks like a safe endeavor it is good to “file a flight plan” before going in.

Special request, I know it’s difficult with the stationary medium. At one point can we have the characters run, while the background loops behind them?

I was thinking the next special guests to Dick Tracy should be Fred, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby. They’re always solving mysteries, it’ll be perfect.

Maybe because they’re such ordinary looking people, the extras at least, that it’s a bit jarring to see no one wearing a mask.

1-BLONDIE: It’s so cool being on the Tracyville College campus!

2-ANNIE: I don’t like how the boys are always undressing me in their minds though…

3-…Let’s show them which team we’re on. Maybe that will stop their lascivious bahavior!

BLONDIE: Nah. Now they just think I’m a hot chick helping my blind friend.

ANNIE: What could ever give them that impression? And why are the older professors always shouting “My Favorite Martian!” at you?

BLONDIE: Ummm, college is a different world I guess…

why in the hell do they need to check with tracy?

Oh wait, thats right… because they are meeting up (hopefully) with the vampire murderer and this will give tracy another avenue in which to trap him.

Another thing… WHY would high school girls be given access to a college computer system?

Also is it possible to get either Inspector Gadget or Closseau to help Tracy on his next case?

One trouble with these crossovers is that everyone starts to look like a reference. Is that Urkel in the last panel?

Scoff if you will, but Honeymoon’s prudence here may well save their necks!

Having Pop Pop Tracy aware of where they going makes it ever so much easier for him to come to the rescue if they get into trouble with Prof. Stokes, the Wannabe Vampire!

BTW, I see them, while they discuss their plans, as at their own school and the extras as other students there as well….

Having been an extra in 2 movies (Bull Durham and My Fellow Americans), I can say that we got paid a flat rate as a background extra. $30 for Bull Durham in 1986, and $60 for My Fellow Americans in 1995, which all extras donated to a local charity, Loving Food Resources. In Bull Durham, I was moved from one area (in the stands) to stand alongside the fence at a later point. (I took my glasses off so I’d look different.) I got about 2 seconds of screen time, if you stop frame the scene. For My Fellow Americans, we got fed and there were door prizes.

Good idea, Honeymoon, checking with your Pop Pop. That will come in handy when all hell finally breaks loose.

In the third panel, Annie has her hand on Honeymoon’s shoulder. Am I reading something into that, or is their relationship more intimate than two college women are friends?
