Large weddings seem so impractical. I think $30,000 is about average. I bet it is a debt that most couples carry for while unless the father of the bride picks it up.
One sister would often bring home some scummy guy, she had experience with those from me, and announce she was getting married. One time, Dad sat down beside him and said, “Well, son, how do you feel about eloping?”
Gotten to do more home improvement, what with working from home instead of commuting two hours and much less money going into travel (my wife’s only enduring hobby, not that I ever turn down a trip).

The real question is “Who gets divorced first? The couple or the man and his boat?” It is after all one of the two best days in a boat owner’s life.
