I remodeled a kitchen once. Took it down to the studs, added power circuits, insulation, new sheet rock, paint, vinyl flooring, cabinets, sink, garbage disposal and dish washer (new items), counters … in a three day weekend. Lots of prep work was required, but without the cabinets between the kitchen and dining area, it worked much better.
