Someone has to say it. Donna was acting like a fathead.

“Huate”? Maybe Donna got it wrong because she doesn’t know how to spell “haute”.

Does this mean that ancient Egyptian women were the original greasers?

    I don’t doubt Jen – she’s an Egyptologist, after all – but.

Egypt.Extremely hot. Pig fat (lard). Melts easily. Spoils quickly. The word “rancid” was coined for just this state. (Animal fat+heat+ runny decomposing stinking mess).

Was there some cunning and extremely wise way the Ancient Gyps prevented the stuff going off and stinking when they used it as hair conditioner? Any perfumes or rare unguents mixed into it?

I mean, the ancient British used urine as a hair bleach, but we had the excuse of being barbarians…

I just finished a theatre research class…yeah, we talked about the melty cones of fat or wax that were worn in the headdresses; the idea was that it kept the skin moisturized as it melted and dripped down your face under the hot sun.
