I very much prefer small businesses. They still treat people like people, mostly. Alas, these days, it’s safer (for me) to spend money online. It’s a dilemma.

When I first ran into this line of thought it struck me as running counter to the purposes of having companies in business and keeping them going.

We have a whole lot of people on unemployment right now, and most of them would really like to work. It’s important to help good people over the hump, but the money we pay them has to come from somewhere, so we just print it. That means we just devalued the dollar even more, so prices go up. Notice the difference since last January? If you didn’t, you don’t shop much at the grocery store or Walmart.

Businesses don’t exist to give you a job. They exist to give you a product or service at a price you’re willing to pay.

This is the first time I’ve seen her interested in something! Maybe she has a leaning towards business?

If people have no jobs, they have no money to buy those goods. I guess you could take the Ebenezer Scrooge thought, “Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?”…..

The problem I see in the current favored Business Model that only seeks to provide huge profits for the Investors and Senior Managers that deliver thos is that it only works in the short term.

It’s not sustainable and does nothing to ensure the long term viability of both that Business and the Consumers necessary to keep it afloat.

One of the reasons the stock market isn’t a good indicator of a good economy.

we can argue all day but power has always been in the hands of those with deep pockets. Even those who we think are in power are beholding to those who dole out the funds. When a tycoon falls, the world breaths a sigh of relief or panic as their competitors scramble and everything shifts.
