The parable of the frog slow cooking in the saucepan. Turn the heat up suddenly, it jumps into action. But increase the heat gradually, it will do nothing until it cooks itself.
By the way… ANYONE ELSE think that it’s suspicious that Yahoo has SUSPENDED allowing comments on news stories this close to the election? I wonder which “administration” official leaned on them?
And, as for the second panel… the answer is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!
I mean there are Conservatives that claim America is better off today than it was four years ago. Clearly that’s them responding to "we got rid of the Black guy and are re-establishing the “Silent Majority aka ethno-Nationalists” policies we say under Nixon and Reagan." Yep that sums it up.
Ummm. Trump did not choose the Postmaster General. The PG is selected by the postal board of governors. True, they were appointed by Trump, but once appointed and senate confirmed, they serve for seven years and are independent other than impeachment for misconduct.
The post office has been bleeding cash like a slaughtered hog for about 40 years now, ever since they were made an independent arm of the executive branch. The Carter administration started eliminating their tax subsidies in 1980 and both parties have done the same over and over in the last 40 years.
Anyone here besides me old enough to remember the penny post card? Mail delivery twice per day to homes? Morning mail and afternoon mail. Yeah, I’m old.
Trump and the republicans have been allied with Russia long before Trump was “elected” president by the American Electoral College. Our very own domestic terrorist group, the National Rifle Association, has been closely allied with and accepting dark money from Russia for decades and they have been very generous in divvying it up between republicans willing to support their cause of division and political strife.
More and more media are using words like “lie” and “disinformation”. It is important that we not sugarcoat it with some misguided “fairness”. The threat is too dire for the niceties of another age.
It’s starting to seem to me that we’ve entered a twisty maze of little dysfunctional aspects, all alike, and no matter which way we go, we end up in a place pretty much like the one we left. As w/ Zork, the appropriate answer isn’t to continue to explore the twisty maze, but to back up and do something radically different. Too bad we don’t agree on what that would be.
The Post Master General who is destroying the United States Post Office to rig the election for Trump, was a big donater to Trump. Nancy Pelosi wants to investigate the irregularities under which the PMG was hired.
