Trump doesn’t want schools open because it’s safe or because he cares about education or kids. He wants schools open because he is running for re-election. He wants parents who would have to stay home to watch kids, instead taking jobs so employment numbers look better going into the election. With Trump, it’s always about Trump.

Some choise….some chance….I would prefer a safer schooling experience for all youngsters….Bullet proof schoolbags….virus proof face masks…how can a parent choose to send a child into a minefield? ….some choise…..some chance?

Opening the economy, schools. business, bars, sports, etc too late is far, far better than opening too early.

The Republicans killed Obama’s Hope, they totally ignored covid reality, and their stupid right wing superiority fantasies have put the USA in Dread.

Biden says he will follow the advice of the Doctors over the Economists – perhaps that is what’s needed, though experience has shown, over and over, that treating ANY infection once its spread, is ALWAYS orders of magnitude more painful than treating the injury initially (and we also know that some people would rather die than have the infected part removed, so there’s always that, as well!)

Some points to consider. A truly safe and effective vaccine will NOT be available until next year – Trump’s browbeating The F.D.A. won’t – can’t – hurry the testing AT ALL. Anything released on or before November 3rd will not be thoroughly tested even if it is "approved’ by Trump’s “handmaidens”, so it’s just as likely to be ineffective or deadly as help block the virus.

Children are NOT immune to the virus – it just tends to affect them differently – it tends to do lasting damage to their circulatory systems and their lungs which are not readily apparent unless examined closely – and children tend to carry a larger virus “load” than adults for the spreading of the virus.

In other words, children are walking disease “vectors”. At the very least, we are going to lose many teachers to this reckless reopening, no to mention the various support personnel involved in education.

The Trump wheel of misfortune only has one spot. Get back to class ASAP. You’ll be fine. Maybe, maybe not, people have told me good things, we’ll see. What have you got to lose?

Betsy DeVos and Trump have a plan for this. It involves making money for campaign donors. It will be announced after his re-election along with the new health care plan, etc.

Latest studies shows a child can carry a heavier “viral load” than a symptomatic adult without showing symptoms. A Hong Kong study just confirmed a case of re-infection from a separate strain of COVID-19 four-and-a-half months after recovery. Taking temperatures has been proven insufficient, over and over, as a means of identifying people with COVID-19. Classroom cohorts, where children stay in the same classroom with the same teacher all day makes no sense when the cohort breaks up and goes home every evening. Child care should not be conducted in a “war zone”. The primary arguments for reopening schools center around child care more than education. Parents’ motives are just as questionable as the President’s. It’s time to educate yourself.
