What could go wrong is that we could let the Russians tamper with our elections so that we end up with a traitor at the helm who does nothing but line his own pockets while attacking social norms including, but not limited to the rule of law and the USPS. What can also go wrong is 30-35% of Americans still not willing to wake up to the reality that they’ve been had by a con man!

Deliberately interfering with the mail is a federal crime. But will people like Gorrell lay the blame where it belongs?

This administration is doing its worst to make the USPO fail. So your answer is to get your absentee ballot, fill it out, and return it BY HAND to the voting offices in your district. Be sure you stay long enough to watch it go into the “be counted” bin.

You may even miss out on seeing those armed “poll protectors” who intend to make it so fraught to use the polling places… if you don’t look white enough…

Instead of “Damaged in transit” it should say “Damaged in the White House and Senate”.

From personal experience in polling offices, the USPS always comes through with the ballots, always. Gorrell is a despicable moron to accuse good, hard working USPS employees of vote tampering. That is the realm of the Orange As*hole in Chief and his Orange Reich.

It’s illustrating that the – in it’s own perception – best nation in the world does not bother to look around and learn from others. In Switzerland, we’re voting 4 times a year on different subject matters and have national, provincial and communal elections every 4 years. And for many years you can either cast your vote in a ballot or by mail. No problems whatsover. Voting by mail is safe, easy and “customer-friendly”. A majority of voters use this option. I don’t understand why this is a matter of political controversy, except if you have a hidden agenda.

It took three months just to hand stamp notices all over the ballots before destroying the sorting machines. Too bad Trump didn’t put that much effort into destroying Covid-19 for three critical months. Right, Bob ?

While tRump’s brother lie dying, tRump lied golfing. I know it has nothing to to with the Post Office. I just thought I’d put it out there.

I’m wondering if this cartoon is a comment on the machinations promulgated by the new so-called postmaster general* to wreck the absentee ballot count rather than a critique of the USPS’s operations.

What could go wrong? Gee, I don’t know. Maybe we should look at the states that have been voting by mail for a while with no problems. Huh, Gorrell?

Don’t be surprised to get your absentee ballot two days after the election. No fault of the USPS, just Trump’s funding cuts.

You know what’s funny? When they started replacing voting machines with easily hack-able electronic voting machines with no paper trail, the GOP was all for it. What could possibly go wrong? But this proven method of voting with extremely little evidence for fraud of any sort…. well THAT is unacceptable!

Bob Gorrell, hates America. Screams about defunding a brutal criminal justice system, but supports the dismantling of a line of communication vital to democracy. For shame.

After actually drawing Kamala Harris yesterday, Bob “just following orders” Gorrell tries to sell the lie that the post office is inefficient by copy pasting an envelope:

    https://votingbymail.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Election-mail-envelope.jpg

    https://about.usps.com/news/national-releases/2018/pr18_092.htm

“The U.S. Postal Service expects to deliver nearly 15 billion pieces of mail and 900 million packages, for a total of nearly 16 billion cheerful deliveries this holiday season – the period between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.”

and you think you can convince people that the USPS can’t handle two hundred million ballots?

if there is anything Trump and Louis Dejoy proved by intentionally slowing down the post office, it’s how beloved and essential they are.

Gorrell is just fine with our veterans who survived war only to come home and have their lives put in danger again, because the intentional slowdown of USPS has meant their medications have been late. Why do you hate our troops Gorrell?

Without the USPS, how is Trump going to win the ‘war on Christmas’? The USPS is the one delivering letters to Santa Claus.

Without the USPS, small businesses will have to resort to more expensive shipping options through Fedex or UPS.

vote by mail works so well that officials are able to filter ballots from people who died after casting their vote but before election day.

With so much doubt about America having a postal system one can trust.. trump could save a lot of angst by using his magic Sharpie® and just declare himself the winner.. That national emergency thing seems to cover a multitude of “things”. His AG and hand picked SCOTUS could probably figure out how to do it and State TV (aka Fox News) could spin it.

Anti democracy Republican dictators are trying to steal the election by closing the United States Post Office. This is unAmerican, just what you expect from a Putin loving president.

This trope that the USPS is “inefficient” is tiresome. they handle almost 500 million pieces of a mail/day. During X-mas week, it increases to 3 billion. There are potentially about 150 million voters. I think they can handle the job.

Yeah. What could go wrong with not funding the USPS, removing large capacity sorting machines, and mail drop boxes? Then turn around and claim the USPS is not capable of handling tens of millions of mail in ballots like they do with holiday cards and gifts every year. But don’t forget to request your absentee ballot in North Carolina. Don’t take it from me, take it from the request form that has Trump’s face on it.

We could sabotage the USPS, so that it can’t deliver election mail on time. Then, the ballots, which would inevitable come late, would be rejected. However, I live in Colorado, where we have universal mail-in voting, and it works very well here, because our officials make sure that it does. The success or failure of a policy depends on whether the leaders who are carrying it out actually want it to succeed.

Look, five states have had mail-only elections, some for a couple of decades. As you might imagine, the planning and execution of such an operation is undertaken seriously, with careful checking of addresses and deaths. The results have been closely studied, very closely studied indeed, and in fact errors of any kind are vanishingly few, and “fraud” (let us confidently say people voting who shouldn’t be, or possibly voting twice) is effectively too rare to bother measuring—the HIGH end of the range is 0.0009% over a period of 20 years.

Of course, the calculus changes a bit if the administration sets out to sabotage the mail system. I suppose they could save themselves a heap of trouble by just not counting votes for whoever is running against the Republican candidate. It would fit—rigging elections seems to be a Republican policy.

“… what could possibly go wrong?” is that we have a self-absorbed fascist in the White House who will stop at nothing to continue his destruction of our democracy. In this case it is voter suppression.

Sometimes things are lost in the mail. In Gorrell’s alternate universe, no one can check the state electoral website to see if their ballot was received, and request a new one (which negates the original should it show up later) should they discover theirs had not been processed.
