You’re low-balling that estimate by a few orders of magnitude, Jason.

After the finals, Peter’s punishment will be on a cosmic scale.

According to Terry Pratchett, space is so big that there exists somewhere at least one of everything that could possibly exist. So… somewhere in the vastness of space, there must be a world in which Peter’s getting a good report card…

Well, there is undoubtedly far more stars in the universe than grains of sand on Earth. I used to know the guy that did the original calculation. Here are the numbers @ Google Answers: http://tinyurl.com/67r9m7

Can anyone read the headline on the newspaper? I can make out cartoonist and deadline.

Jason is forgetting Einstein. “It’s all relative.” As in, “It doesn’t matter how insignificant your report card is in the vast cosmos, it’s what our parents will think.”

But if Peter blows this thing there might be 75% less of him in the universe…

Sadly, it appears Mom would be of little use to Peter if he actually needed help reviewing. Stargazing might refocus him if he was studying Astronomy, but Physics? …maybe I’ll believe it if I ever seen a high school that teaches Astrophysics… maybe…

People assume that space includes galaxies, stars, planets, grains of sand… in short, baryons. Alas, that’s only 5% of the makeup of the Universe. The rest is 25% “dark matter” and 70% “dark energy”. Go figure.
