Aren’t Woodpeckers always at risk of getting a huge headache? They are pounding their beaks against trees (and other things like poles!) to make homes and find food.

I have a woodpecker here taps on a metal pole all day. He’s not tapping this morning though. I think he was after the wrong bug and got hungry enough to move on. I thought he’d never stop tapping that dang pole. His beak gotta hurt. We’re down to so few drums these days. It’s not his fault. I’m just glad to see the Sacred little woodpeckers still exist and are surviving the heat. Poor little guy. His head is bright red and his feathers Perfectly balanced with black and white shades. It’s nice to see such sacred creatures thrive while MEN kill everything for SPORT.

Even the biggest woodpeckers are skinny compared to the average chicken. The woodpecker has to work for its food. The chicken gets handouts every day.
