The universe may hold many secrets… that are tricky, maybe even impossible (who knows?) to discover. But it is not perverse. The US tax code, though, was written over a long period of time, by people who had to satisfy politicians, who had various agendas of their own… and which has since been altered by the activity of the judiciary based on complaints by rich people. I’d be amazed if it were NOT perverse!
It’s really quite simple. The wealthy pay nothing, the peons pay everything. However, it does provide a good living for tax accountants, tax software services, and the like.
I remember reading an article about the tax code and how it is interpreted differently by each person who uses it. One fellow, in particular, was annoyed, astounded, appalled, by a certain clause; “I wrote that rule! That isn’t what it says!” How’s that for scary?
The tax code is s bunch of ad hoc things combined with some planned features over s long period of time. Programmers call things like that spaghetti code.
Next let’s do Trump’s taxes which he has so desperately hidden from the American people that he went to the Supreme Court to keep everyone from seeing them.
Remember when hypocrite covid spreading Trump the racist lied in 2016 that he would show his taxes?
Has crooked liar Trump ever told the truth about anything?
I’ve been paying taxes since 1968 or there about. I always thought it was simple. I gathered my w2 forms added the numbers and looked up what I owed. A little math to calculate how that squared with how much I’d paid and done. I guess small businesses are more complicated but all the ones I worked for over the years hired tax specialists to keep it straight. I suppose if there is enough money involved and the objective is to not pay taxes it gets complicated but I wouldn’t know about that.

It’s actually pretty simple! Tax the poor cuz the rich don’t want to pay any.

A simplified, but the same result, tax code: How much did you earn last year? Give it to us.

Would that the tax code were that small – if it were, indeed, that tiny, you would need a Scanning Electron Microscope to read it.

They probably won’t find any dark matter but the dark intentions will stand out like a proton.

That’s why some people are CPAs while others draw cartoons
