Does making a graphic novel for a assignment make you feel better about yourself, Nate? Does it feel like you are covering up your insecurities by doing this? Nate meets his mom arc concept (I try my best to make it like Peirce): Monday: 1st panel: Marty: Important news kids 2nd panel: Nate: Oooh, are Gram and Gramps coming? Ellen: Are we getting a bigger house? 3rd panel: Ellen: Are we getting 60 inch TV only for figure skating. Nate: Are we getting rid of Ellen? 4th panel: Marty: No, you’re going to meet your mom. Nate (thinking): Last time it was he found a toy soldier from when he was a kid Tuesday: 1st panel: Nate: My mom’s coming to visit us tomorrow. Francis: Your Mom!??? 2nd panel: Teddy: When was the last time you saw her? Nate: A long time ago I can’t remember 3rd panel:Nate: Wait, it’s coming back to me Francis: What happened? 4th panel: Nate: My dad ate all the Halloween candy and came up with the bright idea to hand out diced eggplant instead.Teddy (thinking): Shocker Wednesday: 1st panel: Nate’s Mom: Hi Nate, Hello Ellen, so happy to see you, you’re so big now 2nd panel: Nate’s Mom: I missed both of you so much and I know you’re going to love my kids 3rd panel: Marty: Hi (kind of shy) 4th panel: Nate’s Mom: (rolls eyes) Not you. Marty: What, I weigh 2.3 lbs less?!! Thursday: 1st panel:Taller Boy: So you’re my mom’s other kids Nate: Yeah, why 2nd panel: Shorter boy: She told us how much of a loser your dad was…Taller Girl: and how she thinks you’re going to turn out like him3rd panel:Ellen: He’s not as bad as you think he ummm… uhhhh….Nate: I’ll handle this 4th panel: Nate: He could take out your dad Ellen: (whispering to Nate) What are you doing?!!

Friday: 1st panel: Taller boy: So you think your dad can take out ours. I think our mom would all for it. Taller Girl: Come out of the car dad. 2nd panel: 350 lb muscular guy walks out Nate and Ellen: thinking (Yikes) 3rd panel: Nate and Ellen go tell Marty: Marty: What did you say? Oh yeah, of course, I can do that. I mean that’s easy. 4th Panel: Nate: It’s OK dad we both know you’re only hope is falling on him. Your weight would crush him. Saturday: 1st panel: Francis: So what happened? Nate: My mom turned out to be really nice even though I didn’t really remember her and 2nd panel:Teddy: and what? Nate: Her kids were jerks though so I told them my dad could take out theirs. 3rd panel: Francis: Did he? Nate: Nah the other guy just offered dad some Pomegranates to give out for Halloween. 4th panel: Francis and Teddy: Both Laughing Chad: I bet my gram could take him out.Thanks for reading. I tried staying in character. Sadly I think this is never going to happen. It would be an interesting arc.

Out-logic-ing a math teacher is an impressive piece of work. Well done kiddo.

If Nate had studied faculty dynamics, would it be necessary to learn advanced math? statistics? fluid mechanics?

Ok first of all1. Nate is not going to get a good score with his graphic novel2. Mr staples Is the most competitive teacher 3. Question of the Day- Who finds math projects boring?

Bonus Question- what subject does Miss Brindle teach?

The fact that even Mrs. Godfrey lets Nate do his assignments in graphic novel form is…..actually kinda neat

I would have told Nate he needs to appreciate different teachers for what they uniquely bring to the table. You learned what Mrs. Godfrey’s gifts are as a teacher, now try to learn how you can benefit from my style of teaching. Now let’s see what you can do with this assignment. Challenge yourself Nate, step out of your graphic novel comfort zone, and show me what you got.

Ok, wow Nate, you really do know your stuff. I know this is a random question, but just asking, when were there a time where Nate surprisingly did something genius?

Um….. Every time you do comics for her class, it’s a dumpster fire.

It’s sounds like a good idea – get him to do the assignment and get him to show something he’s interested in at the same time. My History teacher once gave me extra credit for writing the Essay answer in rhyme, for the same reason.
