In Internet Explorer 7 and Opera, h1-h5 convert lowercase letters to uppercase. In Mozilla Firefox, only h3 and h5 convert lowercase letters to uppercase. So, I guess Mozilla users who use h1, h2, or h4 will be inadvertently shouting in all caps at non-Mozilla users, without knowing it.

Internet Explorer 7 isn’t working properly with the new GoComics on my computer, so I’ve been using Mozilla or Opera. I tried Internet Explorer 8 on another computer, and the new GoComics worked fine. Both computers were running Windows XP.

I should have thought Susie would be smarter than “insulting” Calvin, even at this early stage, and then walking away unguarded.

Hi david42. I tried the Peanuts archives, and most of it seems to be there, but only for the original years from 1950 through the beginning of 2000. The reruns from 2000-2011 are missing and I get the error message, except for the past few months after GoComics took over the strip. Also, I can’t get the archives to zoom, again except for the past few months after GoComics took over. I did notice a software bug: When I go all the way back to the very first month, none of the days are highlighted and it doesn’t work, unless I step forward one month and then back to the first month again.

I wonder if Calvin’s aim with the slingshot is as bad as it becomes with snowballs and rotten apples. I don’t think I’ve seen him much with a slingshot as the strip grows up. Probably a good idea; a slingshot can be deadly.

…pay me insurance, before I hurt you; huh, can’t tell if Calvin’s working for the mob, or the government…actually, thinking about it, he must be working for the government – in the mob, it’s pay me insurance or else I’ll hurt you…it’s the government that doesn’t give you an option on the insurance or the hurt…

I still need help, Hobbes……when i DO get into a comic page, I get an old page…….and then I have to use the arrows to get to the current comic. That has changed on a few comics, but just now I tried to get to BirdBrains, and it came up with May 11th’s cartoon, not today’s.Any ideas?

If you are collecting and compiling a list of necessary fixes i wanted to make sure you added it to the list. Hopefully it will make it’s way to the right people and get taken care of.

davidf42: If you can’t see the archives, maybe try deleting your internet browsing history/cache and cookies. If that doesn’t work, try updating your browser to the latest version. If that doesn’t work, try other browsers. If that doesn’t work, try it on someone else’s computer to make sure it isn’t some problem just with your account. I’m a paying subscriber — can’t tell whether you are, since the goofy “Genius” label is now gone. Maybe non-paying subscribers have less access to archives? You asked about the Annie archives. I checked some Annie comics at random from over the past 10 years, and a whole lot of them are missing.

Two thoughts:“When the Piranhas left school they were called up but were found by an Army Board to be too unstable even for National Service. Denied the opportunity to use their talents in the service of their country, they began to operate what they called ‘The Operation’. They would select a victim and then threaten to beat him up if he paid the so-called protection money. Four months later they started another operation which the called ‘The Other Operation’. In this racket they selected another victim and threatened not to beat him up if he didn’t pay them. One month later they hit upon ‘The Other Other Operation’. In this the victim was threatened that if he didn’t pay them, they would beat him up. This for the Piranha brothers was the turning point.”.and.The “Army Protection Racket” (similar, in its own way).

Colonel: Good morning gentlemen. Now what can I do for you?Luigi: (Michael Palin) (looking round office casually) You’ve… you’ve got a nice army base here, Colonel.Colonel: Yes.Luigi: We wouldn’t want anything to happen to it.Colonel: What?Dino: No, what my brother means is it would be a shame if… (he knocks something off mantel)Colonel: Oh.Dino: Oh sorry, Colonel.Colonel: Well don’t worry about that….Luigi: Explain it to the Colonel, Dino.Dino: How many tanks you got, Colonel?Colonel: About five hundred altogether.Luigi: Five hundred, eh?Dino: You ought to be careful, Colonel.Colonel: We are careful, extremely careful.Dino: ‘Cos things break, don’t they?Colonel: Break?Luigi: Well everything breaks, don’t it Colonel. (he breaks something on desk) Oh dear.Dino: Oh see my brother’s clumsy Colonel, and when he gets unhappy he breaks things. Like say, he don’t feel the army’s playing fair by him, he may start breaking things, Colonel.Colonel: What is all this about?Luigi: How many men you got here, Colonel?Colonel: Oh, er… seven thousand infantry, six hundred artillery, and er, two divisions of paratroops.Luigi: Paratroops, Dino.Dino: Be a shame if someone was to set fire to them.Colonel: Set fire to them?Luigi: Fires happen, Colonel.Dino: Things burn.Colonel: Look, what is all this about?Dino: My brother and I have got a little proposition for you Colonel.Luigi: Could save you a lot of bother.Dino: I mean you’re doing all right here aren’t you, Colonel?Luigi: Well suppose some of your tanks was to get broken and troops started getting lost, er, fights started breaking out during general inspection, like.Dino: It wouldn’t be good for business would it, Colonel? …
