Our lady is on the ropes. Next frame… Tracy racing out the door.

“Sorry, Tracy, but when I put on my purple Dick Tracy cosplay costume and began to act out my avatar in the real world, I didn’t realize that it could get me and everybody I loved killed. I promise I’ll never cosplay a detective again. It’s unicorns for me from now on.”

It seems to me Howdy DID leave the phone with her, and she is using her own phone to call Tracy!

She is calling Tracy on her phone and Howdy left the burner phone with Guy’s image to show he means business. I would call in the question whether Coney planned it but chances are Coney is concerned with results as opposed to methods. I’ll read in the days to follow whether using "initiative’ as Howdy did paid off. Bookworm sure earned his fee for his research.

Tracy’s wrist radio is suffering from phantom arm pains.

Tracy is still sleepy-eyed, but, like the good cop he is, he responds in a positive way to Dethany’s plea for help. Tess wakes up, but she has been a cop’s wife for a long time and understands these middle-of-the-night emergency calls. Now, Dethany needs to pull herself together and be ready to join Tracy in rescuing Guy!

Wow the DF did leave her the phone????
