Yes indeed, we have more than one plague. Stupidity is definitely there, but the related “deliberate ignorance” is another. Then there’s climate change, which might as well be the Cerberus of plagues, bringing us extra-potent storms, extra extreme temperatures and of course insanely difficult wildfires. Oh. And Covid-19. And whatever happens after that…

One of the problems is the Internet. It has allowed disparate groups that would have met to come together as a community. Pandora’s box is open and you can’t stuff them all back in. However climate change will fix that.

The plague of stupidity will far outlast COVID-19, even though it is actively exacerbating it. And I suspect many more people are afflicted with stupidity than will ever be infected with COVID. Unfortunately, there will never a vaccine or a cure for stupidity, partly because politicians depend on it to get elected and retain power.

I believe what we need to do is quit electing “leaders”.. and elect representatives. We aren’t a democracy, we are a representative republic..way different. We got rid of Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses, and now we have elevated these morons to the stature of the same. We idolize them. And, we are now leaning toward fascism, socialism and communism. Those only work till you run out of everyone else’s money.. And you still have the rich suckers at the top, with money..
