The guy who pops out of the alley with a gun & demands your wallet has harmed you and does, indeed, deserve to do the jolt in the can he’ll get – but the white-collar slime do much greater damage, and to thousands at once; life without parole, in gen pop, in a maximum-security joint should be the result.
But, as they give far more to campaign funds than the street thief, they are more likely to get corporate welfare instead.

Easy question – torts are civil wrongs, white collar criminals violate actual criminal statutes. Very different, if you know.
