I sincerely hope that he loses so bigly that there’s no possible way for Putin’s and McConnell’s minions to cheat him into another “win”.

Another one of Trump’s “best people” thrown overboard. He could have just moved him to the Presidential Covid taskforce team. That way Trump could have thrown him under the bus too. A Trump twofer.

    Just Re-do the Campaign’s Crew – {limerick}

When Donald can see that he’s sinking,

he steps up his wishful thinking, -

    - that a re-aligned crew

    will see him through

by keeping his pollings from shrinking.

    … Coda: – {2 beats/phrase}

“It isn’t MY blunder // that I’m going under; -

-’snot I who’s to blame // if I’m losing this game.

My fans acclaim // my glorious name.”

I see Trump has a new campaign chairman like a “bridge over troubled waters” that needed a traffic survey. Rather ironic.

(A take-off from “The Good Ship Lollipop,” by Whiting / Clare, 1934)

(Hear Shirley Temple sing it, on YouTube)

    ”The Campaign Ship ‘Donald Trump’”

    Verses:

My paramours I’ve paid up, left my TV show,

My casinos are bankrupt, Trump products I let go.

Some way I’d make a comeback, whatever would I do?

At President I’d take a crack, see what would ensue …

    .

    I didn’t expect to win, it was really a surprise;

But dollar signs did begin to dance before my eyes.

My Trump-name business brand has increased by quite a lot,

But — success so near at hand, Term Two so nearly got —

    .

    Chorus:

    The campaign ship, “Donald Trump”

Has just had a nasty bump

    That left gaping holes

    In its popularity polls.

    .

    Coronavirus in the air,

    “Black Lives” marches every where:

    So here we are,

How fortunate to have my William Barr.

    .

    Verses:

The campaign is sinking now, our deck’s at downward slope.

I have a great crew, anyhow, they’re my only hope.

But hark, those splashes now I hear, a series of kerplunks!

My frightened crew, I fear, are making frantic dunks!

    .

Please don’t leave me impotent, confirm that it be true,

Your kind, faithful full percent, one hundred through and through.

As captain, by tradition old, I’d go down with my ship,

But you should know, I’ll take you, too, on that fateful dip.

    .

    Chorus:

    The campaign ship, “Donald Trump”

    Must sail on, bravely pump

    The water from below

Faster than in does it flow.

    .

So close we are to shore,

    And to not worry anymore.

Four more years, and surely then

    We’d have plutocratic hog-heaven!

The Capo won’t stop with reärranging the campaign chairman. He’ll revert to type and find a way to grab one or more campaign chairwomen between now and November.

PINO Trump’s like the Billy Zane character in the movie. Totally cowardly, inherited all his wealth and did nothing to earn it, and a weasel who will do anything to save himself at the expense of others.

Elephants abandoning ship? Not so much. With their vote to not impeach and then to acquit Tяцmp☠, the Republicans almost unanimously chained themselves to the doomed Tяцmptanic☠. The iceberg was clearly visible even then, but only now, at last, do they see that the ship is going DOWN and they’re chained fast to it. So much panic, so sad…

There was an interview with a young man yesterday on Deutsche Welle who follows the campaigns. Sorry, I don’t recall the name. Anyway, he suggested that there will likely be more changes of campaign managers because the problem isn’t them, it is the candidate.

Trump still can create, or have Putin create for him, an international crisis in October and a sitting president’s pole numbers usually go up as the country rallies around to fight the crisis.
