Then we had Carter who wanted us to take a good long look at that black eye in the mirror, but people didn’t want too much of the ugly truth, so they elected Reagan, who put clown makeup over the black eye. And conservatives were happy pretending to not see the plain truth on their own faces. And so it was, and so it has been.
The Republican party is always about easy answers, and there are NO easy answers.
The best comment I can think of is that ship sailed such a long time ago. Donny boy, not looking ridiculous is but a teeny speck in your rear view mirror and that’s the way history is going to remember you no matter what you do with the rest of your life.

On Wednesday [07/01], he sounded a different tone, saying, "I had a mask on. I sort of liked the way I looked. OK. I thought it was OK. It was a dark black mask, and I thought it looked OK.
“It looked like the Lone Ranger,” he continued, a reference to the fictional law-and-order character from the American Old West who wore a black eye mask. “I have no problem with that, and if people feel good about it, they should do it.”
Honestly, I don’t believe Trump will make it to November. His influence to have his cult not wear masks, is closing asymptomatic cases closer and closer to him, soon he will have come to his chosen end like many that believe in him… I wouldn’t wish this disease on anyone but you can’t keep rolling the dice forever… it’s inevitable

True.. a mask would make you look ridiculous.. but in fairness.. so does your hair.. your tie.. those tiny hands, your large butt.. your mangling of words.. your vision. Heck just about everything about you makes you.. ridiculous, never mind just looking that way.
Apparently a lot of these manly non-maskers have no idea/think it’s a hoax that the mask’s main effect and purpose is to protect other people from the maks wearer. They think the mask is worn to protect the wearer from others. I guess protecting yourself from someone else is seen as unmanly. (So why all the guns?)
Once again, a direct hit. One wonders — with curiosity, not sympathy — how much vomiting and attacks of self-contempt Trump’s toadies endure every day.
