Ibram X. Kendi in his excellent book “How To Be An Anti-Racist” talks about racism in terms of policy that results in one ethnic group either necessarily falling behind or being advantaged. A racist, he suggests, is a person who supports Racist policy (either vocally or by their silence). All of us are formed by a society loaded with racist policies, so none of us is unaffected.
