I grew up there. They may take it off the state flag, but it will be flown by individual Nazis for generations yet.

That grinding noise you hear as the background music for this cartoon is Ol’ Guv’nuh Ross (“God was the original segregationist; he put the black man in Africa”) Barnette spinning in his grave.

Will the tattoo parlors still ink the flag down yonder . . . . on the backside?

Expect any other state to change their flag to the “Blood Stained Banner”, in retaliation?

Wouldn’t surprise me, although that quote probably wouldn’t be in Bartlett’s or Wiki. I’ve been trying to recall the location a photo of Bilbo I’ve seen printed somewhere. He was standing outside his Senate office door with face toward the camera [with a] deer caught in the headlights facial expression; probably taken in the early 40’s. Seems to me that the operating blood criterion for race identification was 1/64th part; in other words, a minimum of 8 generations were required to “expunge the taint”, as the racists might phrase it. (Which would reduce the black blood portion to 1/128th part, presuming the intervening generations were 100% pure white — HAH!) Looks like Bilbo was a little more rigid in this regard. I know what he would think of Darwin, but I wonder what he would think of the “out of Africa” principle for all of us, including the Neanderthal contribution, which is still pretty common. Unrelated detail: a bilbo is a species of sword.
