The alt-right call it “the silent majority” because they refuse to acknowledge that all the noise they hear behind them is from a disproportionate few. “Here, hold my beer and guns.”
The wealthy aren’t shopping, eating out or traveling, so the service jobs are being eliminated as there are not enough customers. The administration is not doing anything to make anybody feel safe, so the economy will suffer until people, especially the wealthy, know it’s OK to leave their homes.
Gorrell sure is missing the point on this one. Cancel what again? The things that hurt people? Or the things that help people, such as the GOP is dedicated to doing?
The silent majority got Trump elected by staying home in 2016. I doubt they will do that this time around.
As for the “cancel culture” RW conspiracy theory, since when is worshiping the Confederacy and police killing unarmed Black people any part of American culture?
The positing of a rightist “silent majority,” like the lately revived slogan “law & order,” is a throwback to the Nixon era. Is progressive dementia taking someone back to his mid-twenties, sycophants in tow?
What’s most disturbing is the silence on the right as the nation is gripped by the COVFEFE-45 virus, the economy is crashing, racial tensions are raging, and the PINO apparently sold out vital security interests to the Russians.
I dearly hope you are not referring to statuary, but rather closed libraries and museums and Broadway, once known as the Great White Way because of a) the profusion of brightly lit theater marquees, or b) the profusion of brightly lit theater marquees.
Yes, it’s so sad that people are being held accountable for their past transgressions. They should have been held accountable for them at the time of the offence.
Oh how I hate cancel culture. Damn those colonials! They not only took down the King’s statue; they rejected the entire monarchy as a means of government! The went so far as to make the outrageous declaration that all men are created equal!!!
Don’t worry, Bob. Of all human social inventions, culture is by far the most resistant to any change. I don’t care how many statues, etc., fall. The people within the cultures they represent will remain the same. Aye – therein lies the rub.
The majority are not republicans, that is why the cheating lying republicans use voter suppression every way they can, they do not want people to vote as they are in the minority. That is why Republicans complain loudly against vote by mail, it would be fair.
No, I’ve never wondered. When people doing things that they are ashamed of…they don’t broadcast it or want other people to know. I know people who support Trump and/or the Republican party to achieve their ideological goals….but they aren’t proud of themselves for doing it. They go out of their way not to talk about Trump and avoid eye contact when Trump is mentioned.
Silent majority? Who the hell is being silent in this country? WE are pissed off and letting everyone know about it and the other side is busy bleating that you have everything under control and we are not being supportive. Cancel culture isn’t starting until November pal when we get rid of the cancer in the Senate and the WH….

I know that the voices in your head sound like they’re loud, but I assure you Bob, that they are entirely silent out here in the real world.

Hard to be anything but silent when you are on a ventilator.
Thanks, Trump.

Those on the right are neither silent nor the majority.

It’s because of what the silent majority has been saying (and doing). Treat people fairly, don’t grab women by the kitty, and everything will be good.

The “Silent Majority” will be loud and proud on election day. BTW, what the over / under on the number of gaffes Sleepy Joe will stutter today?

This so-called silent majority, if they’re not already dead, will be voting for Biden.

Alright cartoon number 2 after the 2 week vacation. Surely today Gorrell will draw something new. What’s this? Why it’s the same Uncle Sam as:
https://www.gocomics.com/bobgorrell/2016/10/03
I don’t understand what news item this cartoon is referencing.
The silent majority is all of us who no longer bother arguing with our friends and family on the right who cling to their FOXNews talking points.

Bob, the real Uncle Sam know that the mask, if worn properly covers both the mouth and the nose. Your drawing is a fake persona.

The real silent majority is the majority in the Senate who are silent while Mr. Trump shreds the Constitution.
