Hola Locos. Another beautiful day on the lake. Carmy got a good start this morning retrieving her tennis ball at 5:30AM, before it gets to warm for an energetic bundle of muscle.
Disclaimer: I am not a native German speaker. I am learning German, just as I am trying to learn Spanish. (In other words, I cheated a bit)
Here goes:
Ich verspreche der Flagge der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika
und der Republik, für die sie steht,
eine unteilbare Nation (unter Gott)
mit Freiheit und Gerechtigkeit für alle.
(Under God) is in parentheses because, as I understand it, those two words were added to the pledge in the 1950s; they were not part of the original pledge. (Someone on the English page made a comment in a similar vain)
Final note: Notice how, the final phrase, in Spanish, Baldo says it with a raised fist.
I sure hope that is a tribute to the lives of the – for lack of a better choice of words – other races, whom those of our race have not treated well at all throughout history.

I may not be American, but I understood this one, and I appreciate the artist’s nod to justice.
Good evening, locos!
