When you cancel culture does that mean I don’t have to go to the opera? 8<)

It must be “cancel culture” to threaten Bubba with a lynching because failed treasonous flags have been banned from Nascar.

Love how they come up with new “buzz words” to try to confuse the issue. Long ago we had niffy ones like “vertically challenged”. Probably took just as long then to think it over . . .

Jen…. as always…. a wonderfully well stated comic that is all too true (sadly). For me, the whole host of “newspeak” catch phrases is degrading discussion and discourse to keep us all entrenched in our own thoughts and no one listens or hears anymore. Instead of compromise we get polarization. It highlights how Orwell’s dystopian “1984” has become true life in the modern age.

While the extreme and moderate right does use this “newspeak” to a very large extent and it is horrendous…. unfortunately, there is a bit of similar “newspeak” that sadly is coming from some of us in the liberal left as well…. and it also contributes to a decline in real communication between people. Without real communication, there is little hope for progress or change.

Plenty of vague slogans, very little attempt to actual solve problems…

They had such success rebranding compassion as “libtard” and politeness as “PC.”

    Another good one.

I don’t always agree w/ Sorensen, but I almost always enjoy the though that gets put into the cartoons.

“Cancel culture” appears to be the lingering miasma of puritanism. It’s an American tradition. As previously referenced, the concept of entelechy explains most (if not all) of America’s problems.

When they say history and legacy does that include lynching and Jim Crow laws?
