Growing up, a seasonal outfit barely lasted to the next year. With no siblings to get stuck with hand-me-downs, it must have been expensive. Today, I’m wearing 20-year-old shorts and tees.
There is so much more to it. True, calories burned, are calories removed, and calories NOT consumed, are calories you needn’t worry about. But calories consumed may take many paths, including being excreted. Two different people can have the same diet and exercise levels with very different results.
Regardless what it does for weight or what it does to clothing, ice cream is good stuff. Been enjoying it for over 80 years and still find nothing wrong with it. Started with High’s Ice Cream and went on from there. Of course, docs would rather I just drank water and ate saltines, but that ain’t gonna happen.
I remember when my very young daughter was enjoying a chocolate ice-cream cone on a hot summer day and she dripped it onto her favorite shirt. Yes, she outgrew the shirt but the rest of the summer her favorite shirt was worn stained.
As a big, fat, Hawai’an-shirt aficionado, I must protest I’ve been wearing them since before I was big & fat, and that spilled food is not the reason I wear them – it’s just a really nice side effect…………
I really wish my pants would last as long as my shirts. And, yes, I eat ice cream at a regular base. I’ve found very few shops with good frozen yoghurt. And that was before the covid thingie.

Frazz thinks only overweight people eat ice cream, because of course he does.

Actually, kids that age sometimes can eat all they want to and not gain weight. Including me. Not anymore, though.

She’s giving a nice lesson in the zen on non-attachment, living in the present moment, and acceptance of impermanence.
