    Hay Vagabonds

It’s Saturday! Now why am I so thrilled? I haven’t been working for about 8-9 years having to care for the folks I took early retirement, now, so to say, everyday is the weekend. (^.^)

Weather is nothing to stand up and scream about. (see yesterday’s post) High 78, dew point 54.

I have spoken of the “Rocket Man” serials. Three serials not really connected to each other, “King of the Rocket Men”, “Radar Men from the Moon” (same rocket suit) and “Zombies of the Stratosphere” (note: although an unknown then, the cast includes our favorite Vulcan). These are on VHS two tape sets, I also have on VHS “Captain Marvel” (you know, Billy Batson). I also have a DVD set something like 10 serials including one staring a young John Wayne. Gotta dig that out and start bingeing.

Well, got to get that darn list started soon so I can get in and get out of the grocery store, also a short tour of Wally World.

Y’all have a sweet day and may God lay his hands upon you.

    Good morning, Vagabonds…

I stayed in bed awhile this morning, enjoying the quiet outside. No wind (yet); no rain (yet). Hurricane Isaias is heading northward through the Bahamas and we will probably be getting some “weather” and winds from the N & NW later today.

The Hurricane Center is predicting an eventual landfall near Jamestown RI (41.5N 71.4W) in approx. 96 hrs. w/ max wind-speeds of 60 – 70 mph. Of course, as with all storms, this is a prediction and not a fact. See up-to-date info. at nhc.noaa.gov. The latitude/longitude coordinates are in the Discussion at that website and the coordinates can be copy & pasted into maps.google.com (then you have to click the minus sign & zoom out to see where you are).

I cannot keep how to pronounce the name of this storm in my memory, so I have come up with calling it “izzy-us.” A Cat 1 hurricane has sustained wind-speeds of 74-95 mph or higher. When it affects coastal areas of the US east coast, the winds of Izzy-us are predicted as a tropical storm and not a big, bad hurricane.

With all the foliage in my neighborhood, we may lose power.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

We are experiencing a heat wave around here. It got up to almost 112 on our patio yesterday and didn’t get below 90 last night. It’s a good thing I don’t have to go outside for anything! The forecast for today is 112 again. I don’t usually mind the heat all that much, but this is a bit excessive, though I have seen worse.

Mike called me yesterday afternoon so I could tell him all about the wedding. We had a nice chat. His parole hearing is in mid-September, but it may be “in absentia” where they grant parole without having the inmate appear before the board. They do this a lot with non-violent crimes, especially when (like Mike) they have no write-ups and do everything they are told to do, such as attending classes and joining “help” groups such as Hope for Prisoners.

Not much happening on this sunny Saturday. So everyone stay safe and have a blessed day.

    Good Hot morning, Vagabonds,

It was 95 yesterday until the clouds rolled in around 8 p.m. Then it was lovely. More of the same today.

Jack’s turn to pick the movie last night. We watched ‘’City Slickers’‘. We haven’t watched it in ages and forgot how deliciously funny it was! From the ‘Yee Hawwwww’ scene to Norman, to Curly. It was one big laugh fest. I’m sure he’ll put on part 2 next week.

Florchi, I love your ‘Izzy-us’! I too was at a loss in retaining how to pronounce it! Sure glad the Mars Mission was launched a few days ago, no problems from the storm. And, our 2 astronauts will be able to splash down tomorrow in the Gulf instead of the Atlantic. I’ve been following the storm, be safe!

    xoxo Happy Trails
