One of my best tricks was always a running somersault here I came up on my feet again and kept going

Been a long time since I tried it, pretty sure I don’t want to find out whether or not I still can

Ah to be limber as a child again. Somersaults, cartwheels all memories now. Good memories.

I can still tuck and roll. Surprises a few young bucks when I do it as the oldest guy on the mat.

In the third grade I was being chased by the fifth grade school bully in the playground. Just as he was about to catch me I did a somersault, he ran into me and took a big tumble. This stunned him long enough for my escape to the safety of my classroom. I smiled all day about my victory but after school I ran like the wind all the way home.

At 69 I decided to show my granddaughter how to do a somersault on the bed. Turns out I’m longer than I remember cause the next thing I knew I was laying flat on the floor with my head spinning and a timid little voice was asking, “Pawpaw, are you okay?” I did do it but decided no more gymnastics for me.
