I’ve read on Wikipedia there is a statue of Andy Capp in Hartlepool, but on which street is it exactly?

@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny , our Hero Mr Andrew Capp is so full of himself that he expects that the local street naming department should name a street after himself because he considers himself a local legend so it was not nice of Jack the barman suggesting bone idle Avenue , Andy is not amused :o) my street is named Sejjieh which in Maltese means rubble wall and there never was one since we moved here in 1979 go figure , my avatar as you may have guessed is a photo of my two sons from Arthur’s wedding album which reminds me of how blessed I am to have such caring , handsome boys , how was your day with a stubbed toe :o{ our day should be busy but calm I hope but I am worried about Connie and Bella not putting weight on her right hind leg and we don’t want to take her to a vet because he/she might suggest that we euthanize her , but sh was born lived and will be eventually be buried in our house , take care and catch you later pal

But Andy does drink a bit. Not exactly productive; but not bone idle either.

Forward or backward, the road leads directly to a pub.

Bone idle sounds like the British version of lazybones.

Andy is only a legend in his own mind.

How about “Road To Ruin”? “Police Court”? “Beggars’ Blvd”? “Penniless Lane”? “No Prospect”?

Getting a job working for the local street naming department would have been perfect for Andy. How much work could there be? He could phone it in from the Pub.

The road that goes along the canal would be a good place for it.
