In my childhood “remembery”, there’s no recollection of me getting my head stuck in a rocking chair albeit there’s photographic evidence in my album and I have the chair (with my head still not stuck therein).

If you remember your first escalator ride, you should remember putting a lot of effort into lining your feet up with the moving steps. My mom felt like I was wasting time.

I too remember being pushed by older siblings in my stroller. Often down a gravel road!

Do you remember all the drama when Charlie Brown had to push you around when there was a game going on? Or is that forgotten history since he is no longer considered that much older than you?

Well, I can’t recall my first experience on an escalator but I do recall my first lesson of learning left and right: it was in front of a mirror and when I lifted my left arm I thought I was raising my right and raising my right I thought it was the left. I was all of perhaps 6 years old. A beginning of personal experience though not too accurate.

Everybody can agree that escalators are MUCH better than elevators

I have a question that doesn’t relate to the comic strip. Best for Peanut’s connoisseurs. Why is it that Charlie Brown always says nobody likes him and he has no friends? What about Franklin? Franklin has never seen Charlie Brown make a mistake. Franklin likes Charlie Brown. He’s the only one who doesn’t have any flaws like the other Peanuts characters. Franklin and Charlie Brown talk a lot and get along great. Or what about Linus? They’re really good friends. They support each other a lot, talk a lot, and so on. And even more friends: Pig-Pen (Charlie Brown accepts the dirt), Schroeder (Also one of Charlie Brown’s closest friends. Schroeder lets it happen when Charlie Brown hangs on Schroeder’s piano. He even talks to Charlie Brown then), Shermy (They also talk and play together often).Charlie Brown’s girlfriend: Peggy Jean. Charlie Brown is not so unloved without friends.

I remember when my mom broke off one of her ‘high heels’ when we rode an escalator in Higbee’s Dept. store in downtown Cleveland … many, many decades ago.

Be glad that you have it, Sally…there will be a time where you won’t be able to “remember” why you came into a room, what you had for breakfast, etc…

I remember my car seat, back in the ‘60s. I even remember when my dad bought a little white steering wheel to clip on it. It was put in the center of the front bench seat of the station wagon. I remember it vividly, and I’m 55. Oh, and I have no photos of it.

I remember the first day of school and getting on the bus. No one told me to remember the school bus number. I had no idea what bus to get on at the end of the day…and some kids had said I had been on their bus but I hadn’t. They got me on the right bus…..#4!

My long-term memory is great. It’s my short-term memory that stinks (and always has)!

My first recollection was when i was around 18 months old..Mom was getting a fresh pair of diapers, she left me on the sofa while she was in the linen closet, i was watching Divorce Court circa 1958, back then the courtroom had a witness stand., and the lady plaintiff was sitting in it being grilled. In retrospect, it’s even more amazing that i recall that episode at all because back then it was taped only weekly!

I’m often shocked about how far my memory goes back. I remember TV shows in the days before syndication and the Internet. I look them up and realize I was 2 or 3 when they were on. Sadly, the short term memory is no longer that great.

The last word remembery gives away that this is a little girl with good baby memories.
