In a viral pandemic, the first wave of spring is a harbinger of bigger and badder things to come in the ensuing fall and winter.

But see how this “mild” (100,000 deaths and rising is not “mild”) harbinger is compared to what will follow soon?

And see how massive the assault on the routines and practices we considered “essential”?

The earth goddess — Mother Nature, Gaia, whatever name she goes by — is both sending a message of disapproval for our past abuse, but also a warning: “Heed this, o children of Earth. Learn this lesson, change your ways, and you will be spared.”

“Fail to learn this lesson and much worse damage to air, sea, land and water awaits, and you will be crushed.”

We’ll need those tall waves when forest fire season starts soon. Heat will kill the virus says Trump.

The “Republican’s” experiment in ignoring AGW is taking a long time so the “Republicans” are now doing a feasibility study with the SARS-CoV-2 virus — where the results can be seen much sooner — to see if it will also just go away when ignored.

The ironic thing is that the solar energy that falls on mother Earth, overheating it in a man-made trap, can supply a vast amount of clean energy.

The right thing to invest in would be a program like the WPA of FDR, only with a focus on green infrastructure. This would bring jobs to the unemployed, and lower the costs of a global carbon tax.

The floods and tornadoes are hoaxes. Well they are the same as they ever were. The statistics showing they are increasing in amount and ferocity are overblown. Now could you call someone to get me out of my floating HOUSE!!

The U.S. doesn’t have the foresight to combat an “opponent” that doesn’t directly attack or threaten it. WWII fascists – yes. Terrorists attacking the U.S. mainland and presences in other countries – yes. Climate, environmental degradation, pandemics – not so much.

We.. you.. are experiencing what it will take to even come close to affecting (possible) man induced climate change. I doubt very much we.. you.. are willing to pay the price and will take the second and third wave.. and deal with it.

Infinite upvotes. Once we are well past the point where mitigating actions could possibly be effective, which is to say in about two decades from right now, maybe at that point about half of the people who are presently oblivious to imminent AGW catastrophic effects to life on planet Earth will finally (sorta) begin to comprehend (just barely) how f****d we are.

Trump admin has been destroying all of the Environmental Protection Agency rules.

Republicans love to pollute and destroy and ignore science and reality, 100,000 dead Americans are proof of that.

The second wave broke the back of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and sent the good ship and crew to the bottom. Something to keep in mind in November.
