In my Walmart, the pharmacy is at the front end of the store and housewares is way in the back corner. If This Side Up wanted the pharmacy department, he wouldn’t need to take a bus from housewares. He wouldn’t even need to go near housewares. The pet department is right next to pharmacy & HBA (Heath & Beauty).
This morning a pigeon and a bunny were apparently sharing a bush. When I walked past I must have startled them, I heard the whirr of wings and a streak dash out of the bush and run down between the houses. I jumped a foot!
National Road Trip Day. The furthest I’ll go if I hit the road will be to my brother’s place where I have my garden (about 3 miles away). Maybe I can plant those marigolds today.
National Cooler Day. I want it to be warmer, not cooler (I know, that’s not what they mean).
National Craft Distillery Day
National Don’t Fry Day. They’re predicting a cloudy day, so I’m sure I won’t fry outside since there won’t be much sun. I know, they don’t mean that either.
National Maritime Day
National Vanilla Pudding Day. National Buy a Musical Instrument Day. I’m not musically talented, so I’ll leave the instrument buying to someone else.
National Solitaire Day. Now that I got my Microsoft Solitaire Collections games back up and running, I’m able to participate in their Solitaire challenge. They’re trying to set a record for the number of Solitaire games that are played in one day. So, I played several games already (I lost count how many) to help in my small way for a record to be set. While I was playing, it showed there were 480,000 players at the time. I hope I can find out later if a record is set.
From yesterday’s comments to WDemBlk – no the Solitaire collection does not include Yukon. I’ve played that game, though. I used to have a CD of Solitaire games on another computer, but that computer died and that old Solitaire CD is not compatible with Windows 10, which is on this computer.
Also from yesterday – okay, I know you all were kidding – it took mere seconds to hook my USB cord to the printer & computer. But going through the process of getting the printer and it’s features to install took an awfully long time. Just a few clicks of the mouse for me, but then a lot of sitting and watching as the data was entered & all that rigamarole was a real pain.
On a positive note, removing the battery from my laptop seems to have given it a new lease on life. It’ll now run solely on electricity (I’ve never used it on battery power anyway).
Love today’s comic. Very amewsing! (Sorry about that, couldn’t resist.) I also like that it’s a nice tribute to laughingkitty. On another note, saw a towhee and a robin while out walking today. I also heard a raven.
Today was a busy one at our feeders and birdbath. Hummingbirds at both feeders, 3 Scarlet Tanagers,,2 males, and the male Pileated Woodpecker pounding away for bugs on one of our trees, also several Rose-brested Grosbeaks,,nice bird spotting day..our woods are nesting places for many.
I had an unusual bird sighting today. A Western Kingbird. Usually the mid west is as far east as it goes…but it made it to West Tennessee. The yellow chest on a mostly gray body was a real give-away. Of course I grabbed my camera…turned it on and got the message, “card is locked” and when I opened it to fix it, the bird flew away.

Today is:
World Paloma Day
