Ok, now how long has Greg been waiting to be able to draw pictures like that on the wall? You are correct ‘mymall’, my guess is they have hired the same interior decorator with gender specific influences for each.

So? It looks like a typical young man’s room. Nothing to be shocked or surprised. Except if you are a potential girlfriend or a fiancee. Who wants a boyfriend who might one day be a husband who is a slob? It would mean she would have to clean after him. Ugh. Tiff is not that woman and nothing for her to blink about. Just go after the box and hurry!

All right, let me preempt the wagging fingers and shaking heads. Les is a college guy. During their terms and young adult years males tend to think about these types of things. (Though, thats usually playboys and phone pics, posters are a bit high-schooling. Then again, that’s Greg’s specialty) point is, this is normal. Crass and gross, yes, but normal. Speaking purely from other people’s experiences btw, I’ve definitely never been in a boys dorm ;)

It looks like Leslie doesn’t spend his professional dishwasher wages on keeping his room clean and straighten.

Finding the box in that room is analogous to finding Waldo in a where’s Waldo picture.

We wonder what his room smells like, and are glad we can’t.

I have resisted the concept that Les and Gunther are the new Oscar and Felix, but today is bringing me around towards it.

Ya know, it appears Les and Luann were made for each other. Both are “domestically challenged.” For that matter, so am I.

I think it would have been funnier if his room had been tidy, organized, and spotless. Les would definitely want to keep that hushed up!

Note the “L” on Les’ door. Either he is too stupid to figure out what room is his, or it stands for “Loser”. Or, it could be that since it is the largest bedroom of the two, the “L” could stand for it being the largest bedroom.

Now, we wonder if Gunther has a “G” on his door. If he does, does it stand for “Gunther”, or what is behind the door is always “G” rated?

Imagine if Les and Jeri from Preteena were to get married. What would the house be like? Beyond description I’d think.

Tomorrow being Saturday, it seems like a good time to find that Leslie’s baby sonogram is missing.How Ann got hold of it was probably during a visit to her brother Al when Leslie was not there, giving her time to riffle through his things.

I wonder if Tiffany helps clean up Les’s room while they go through the baby box and Les discovers the sonogram is missing?

Leslie was living in Al Gray’s house before the marriage. Al should know that.

Perhaps Les should lock his door to avoid embarrassing situations. As for as messiness goes, he is on par with Luann…..

“Almost family” or not, Tiffany must be taken aback by that Luann-like mess of a room. The only significant difference that leaps to view is Leslie’s pin-up posters versus Luann’s music favs. It will take a bit of hold-your-nose searching to find the baby-box!

So Les is actually trying to keep Tiffany OUT of his bedroom. He is not such a sleaze after all. He would be a good match for Luann.

Every teen and young adult male wanted pin-up posters on his wall. When I was young it was Farrah Fawcett-Majors. As long as they had clothes on, my mom did not care.

I like this new arc. Les and Tiff are trying to work out how to deal with a difficult situation (and person) and they’re bonding and getting to know each other. And it’s not entirely pretty but yeah, that’s very much what I would expect from Les.

Les’s room reminds me of many things from the past. Truly a typical “young man’s lair”. But Tiffany was not prepared for this, hilarious. Nice to see how Tiffany already considers Les as a brother. Now I really want to see what that box contains.

Even so, her dad already decided on hooking up with Ann without the the baby ultrasound. They seem destined to be together regardless, baby or not. Ann could still easily explain it off and her dad would believe it regardless. Once down the path of the darkside, there is no turning back….

The only shocking thing about that room is the lack of old pizza boxes.

Hmm…. Les’ room:

1. The male equivalent of Luann’s room.

2. Not really a surprise or shock, IMO…. it seems a pretty typical sort of room for a character like Les…. a) tends toward the more “machismo”, “tough-guy” mindset…. so the pin up girls seem pretty standard, b) the “Oscar Madison” mess seems pretty standard, c) the askew blind on the window… seems pretty standard for a kid who doesn’t give much thought or care to his room’s appearance.

3. But, a BOOK is a bit of a surprise…. it is not a “pinup” type magazine…. it is a book! And, it appears the yellow one in the lower right might be another book (but this one could be a magazine). Having Les have a book (on his bed, to boot)… does seem sort of “anti-Les” if you know what I mean. For me, that is the most interesting aspect of the image.

4. The “odd” part of today’s dialogue, for me, is that Les appears embarrassed about his room and is trying to get Tiffany to never say anything about it to anyone. That seems a little odd and surprising to me…. that he cares and feels embarrassed about his room . Now…. if his room would have been exceptionally neat, tidy, and hyper-organized (very Felix Ungerish) ….. THEN I could better understand Les’ trepidation and need to force Tiffany to swear to secrecy…. because he would be found out to be more of a neatnik than Gunther.

In regards to the box…. since I did not get a chance to comment yesterday…. it does seem an obvious plot line towards getting Tiffany and Les to either a) discover his baby ultrasound is missing, or b) Tiffany will realize that the ultrasound she sees in Les’ box is EXACTLY the same image as the one she found on the picture frame, but is just a copy…..

But… I am hoping Greg does NOT take us on that easy to surmise plot path and instead uses it as a “red herring”. I hope Greg has something more creative in store…. maybe a fuzzy picture of Les’ Dad that sh

… that she suddenly realizes is the SAME fuzzy picture she has seen of her dad when he was young…. or some such thing like that. That would be more intriguing. But, I doubt it will happen. I, like most, suspect that Les’ ultrasound will suddenly be “missing”.

Who wants to bet that Les has a copy of that sonogram in that box?

Eh, pretty typical for a guy’s room, actually.

I have to wonder…. is Ann REALLY pregnant? The LAST thing she would want is another kid. What she wants is MONEY.

Consider this:

1) Ann has a copy of Les’ sonogram and presents it to Tom as HIS baby.

2) Ann insists on getting married ASAP.

3) Not long after the wedding and before a “baby bump” starts to show, Ann mysteriously has a “miscarriage”… brought on by “stress” caused by “Tiffany’s hateful attitude”.

4) Tom cuts Tiffany out of his life forever.

5) Tom suffers an “accident” and dies.

6) As his widow, Ann legally inherits everything.

Actually, his room looks like my son’s room when he was in college…

Padding on a Friday does not bode well for Saturday (especially since it’s a holiday.) Looks like we may be waiting quite a bit longer for any resolution here.

I think Tiffany and Les both should move into the Farrel house for the summer and make it home, the way most kids do. Up playing video games until 3:00 AM, dirty dishes piled up in the living room, friends wandering in and out all day and night. In fact, it would be really cool it Tiffany and Les threw a kegger! Ann Eiffel would just love that.

By the way, Tom Farrell doesn’t yet know that Les exists. He thought Ann had “taken care of it” when she went to Japan.

Just a thought – what IF the ultrasound that Tiffany found turns out to be an ultrasound from back when Les was a baby – and that Ann is NOT really pregnant now

OK, not credible. A guy like Leslie is going to have Hustler centerfolds up on his walls, not models with their “naughty bits” covered.

Les wants to be perceived as a ladies man but that room doesn’t scream ladies man it screams typical teen boy. He’s embarrassed because that’s not how he wants a girl to see his room. Most guys clean their rooms before allowing a girl to come over.

Look at the bright side, if there is one….Les is an equal opportunity sexist pig. The girl on the far right has darker skin tone than the others.

That last panel is no surprise with Lea. Aside from the ‘baby box’, this may deter Tiffany from going too far with him moreso than becoming stepsiblings.

Oh wow so Les has a messy room with a bunch of photos of women in bikinis! Oh the horror, oh the humanity. He is a normal boy/man, a bit of a sexist pig true, but as I told my daughter when she reached puberty all men have that mentality in them, dogs I called/call them. I told her that most men are civilized, although some are very dangerous, but if the right button is pushed even the most civilized can start barking precipitously. That advice has been very useful to her over the years. Anyway I will join the fake sonogram chorus here, it seems that GnK have that set-up pretty well, but long experience with this strip has proven that what seems to be an obvious conclusion is pulled right out from under us fans. I will wait, and keep focused on the big picture, Greg’s an artist, a very deliberate artist, so it takes quite a while for the forest to finally be drawn in completely. This particular tree will be a doozy whatever he has in mind.

I have a prediction: when they find Les’ baby box, they will also find a scan picture for Les done before he was born. And it will be identical to the picture Tiffany found. Meaning that Ann’s claim to be pregnant is bogus, and is a scheme to get Tiffany’s dad to marry him.

As i recall Irma saved all of Gunther’s baby things and offered them to Gunther who was not interested; he was well mothered all his growing up years. Conversely, Les was not (properly mothered) and so the baby box perhaps means more to him and he has saved it.

I think Tiff is going into shock!

The fetus shown in the scan is large enough that Ann should be “showing,” but she’s not. And she doesn’t have a typical female pelvis; she’s “as narrow as an arrow.” If she were to give birth, it certainly would have to be by cesarean. And why did she order Tiffany to tell no one? Is she working a scam?

Tiff, running away from your problems will not help, especially as Ann’s concerned. You need help exposing her for the true colors that she has. I know you took off those rose colored glasses once you met that wicked witch, and it’s time to fight back against that money grubbing, mean spirited woman.

My favorite one of “Charlie’s Angels” was Kate Jackson…she looked and acted like she had something between her ears besides eyeliner and ear wax.
