I think lobsters stop growing when they die.

Pour quoi, Monsieur Arbelot?

Did Fernand’s wife die before him or did he really hate her.

They’l stop when they are cooked. Maybe it’s the lemon butter sauce.

No matter how big they may grow, they never learn to tie [or untie] their shoe laces.

Not only did Louie learn the word from somewhere, but he knew exactly when to use it! That is amazing!

There’s also a story about a parrot who witnessed a murder, and helped solve it by repeating the words of both the killer and the victim.

Look, I like the idea about the parrot yelling “Fire”, but I imagine it was squawking due to the fire and the people half asleep heard “Fire”!

That gravestone is disturbing.

Rip Louie, unfortunately he and the family’s pet dogs did not survive the fire. I remember reading about Louie along with Midnight and Norman on a People magazine, Hero Pets. Norman (dog) though blind saved Lisa Nibley from drowning. Midnight (cat) meowed in a baby monitor to warn parents of a choking baby. Last but not least, Louie (bird) raised a ruckus when a gator crept into the house. You can read more on archive for people.com, cover story brave hearts, vol 48 no 2. Do not ever take pets for granted.

Eventually they grow large enough to become (fill in the blank with favorite political or celebrity target of your abject hatred).

Lobsters are technically immortal, their cells don’t deteriorate due to ageing as the rest of the Earths critters do. But they do stop growing, eventually their shells get too thick for them to molt out of and they die. If someone or something helped the lobster to molt when it got to that point it could live and keep growing indefinitely.

I wonder what the record for the largest lobster captured/trapped is! I ordered a 4lb lobster at “The original Bookbinders” restaurant in Philadelphia once and shared it with a friend! It looked huge to me!

I used to drive a Firebird.

I wonder if they can grow a new tail. If not, what do we do with the ones that are supplying all the extra tails that we eat by themselves.
