It took awhile for people to make very valuable use of oil.

Makes sense when you think about it. People spend more for a 12 oz. bottle of water than they would for a 12 oz. bottle of oil.

And even more for a 12 oz cartridge of printer ink.

Yep.. Oil’s great, but you can’t drink it…

At the time of his discovery there’s no use for it, so no need to get excited.

I don’t know if this is a joke on “cavemen don’t need oil” or “oil prices hit a new low of -$40 a barrel this week.” I guess it depends on the lead time…. But I’ll give M&H the benefit and assume they meant both. :)

I think it very odd the way they come up with names for things just like that but then again I have to remind me self that it is a comic=)
