Now he’s calling Mom “The Dame.” Calvin has turned into a mini Humphrey Bogart.

I broke my lamp too! I put it to the side of my piano to lighten up the notes and than I fell over the cable. The lamp fell down with a loud crash and broke.

It could have been that intruder.. What? You didn’t see him? Yes, he came in and looked around, broke the lamp and it scared him and he left in a hurry!

Calvin someone else is at fault except you on breaking the lamp. Mom knows you did the damage.

Where is Hobbes (the commenter)? Well, actually, I know where he is - he’s over at Peanuts. I hope he’ll come back here soon.

For a 6 year old, he has incredible insight regarding many subjects, in this case I will have to go with pouncingtiger’s take on Calvin’s thought in the last panel. Ok ladies, let er’ rip!

I couldn’t tell what Calvin had in his hand yesterday but hope it was a comic book. But if it was money, he probably was going to find a replacement lamp quickly and hope Mom didn’t notice the difference.

    Especially dames with broken lamps.

    Hobbes can stay at Peanuts.

Even at max zoom level it was hard to tell what Cal was holding Tuesday, but I finally decided it was a comic book too.

In light of what Calvin just said in the last panel, his mother, if she heard him, might just decide that Calvin is deranged. Not sure of what his diagnosis would be, however. Marvelous imagination. I’ve never been all that thrilled with reality, either…..

Since Calvin never takes responsibility for anything he does wrong, I’m sure he’s going to blame it all on poor Hobbes!

I’m surprised Calvin hasn’t been compared to Bogie and the Maltese Falcoln. If he was, I missed it. That was the first thing I thought of when this story arc started! :-)

I first thought of Sam Spade, similar, Calvin’s observation of “Dames” is too funny, stereotypical but funny none the less.

Dry: I believe Bogey was referenced to yesterday. I could be wrong.

Could there still be snowgoons around to blame? Think, Calvin! Think! Wait! What about Susie? She took the rap once before for talking in class.

This is a great series..Love the artwork.

I just watched a documentary on Scandinavian crime fiction and films…

If Calvin was in Norway, maybe he would grow up to be like Varg Veum.
