You should have confiscated the phones before you began the lesson.

It really is easy to take the phones. And even if you’re late to the game, you can still do it. If they scream, well let it be music to your ears. Then kick them outside till they can be quiet.

My kids weren’t allowed to have phones until they could pay for them themselves. unfortunately, that lesson didn’t extend into their parenthood. My oldest two both purchased their pre-teens phones. My youngest has kids under 4, so we’ll see but I don’t have high hopes.

this is what the kids do in class. Make sure when they go back to school, they are told to stay off of their phones.

My daughter went to a private high school where you had to drop your phone in to a box or basket or whatever the teacher provided when you walked in to class. Pick it up on your way out. You were free to use it at all other times during the day. Seemed fair enough.

One of the interesting things I’ve noticed about this current situation is that, with no one driving to work, or running errands, or taking the kids to school, or going on trips, the price of gas has gone waaaay down. And with the kids at home being homeschooled, the price of booze has skyrocketed.
