Ok, not Marx. It looks like a walking sawhorse… Maybe it’s Pokey looking for his pal Gumby? Actually, in the second frame it looks a bit like a ditto-man.

It looks like bait for the cat.

So, was he picking up a toothbrush, or putting one down?

Time to get out my drawing aid (flexible human figure) and use a lamp at low elevation angle to investigate the pose in the third panel.

It looks like the figure bending over, with left arm held up and right arm down (doing something with a toothbrush?). But the shadow of the head is weird.

Fascinating, of course…

It does seem to have a notionally human shape — as with the ditto man

It looks to me like it is dividing in two. Will be interesting to read other comments.

Nope nope nope, after seeing this thing, this stick figure. My gut feelings about some the graffiti being alive may be true. Toothbrushes….maybe they tried to clean the graffiti off and lost.

This just made a right turn onto Bizarre road.

contralto2b may be on to something: Dividing and becoming two “things.” (I thought the same thing when I first saw it)

If this thing works like our current virus, Wally and company are now officially in deep doo doo!

Here’s a real nasty pair of thoughts:

Something with an extremely high level of detail orientation sets down objects. Objects that are oriented in specific ways. One pointing one way. One pointing the other way, etc. Somebody later sees these objects and goes “Whoa, why are these here?” These poor bastards are now unwittingly creating a direct trail to themselves. Because whatever set these objects down has all of them memorized and knows they have been disturbed. And whatever set these down can just follow the altered position of the items until it reaches the ones disturbing them.

Or…

Not a an intentional trap but whatever put this down is like ‘OCD Gollum’ and having the very specific positions of these items disturbed throws it into a white hot rage. Where it goes into a frenzy trying to find the transgressors.

Stand by for dittos?

The shadow lines suggest it dropped to all fours; either it’s an animal or the second part of the Sphinx’s riddle and walks on two legs in the afternoon…

Nice close ups of Wally, miserable, puzzled Wally is having his billionth wtf moment. Stay tuned for next month when the teeny popsicle stick man finishes falling down.

With all the toothbrushes I’m reminded of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”.

… the shadows in the third panel are intriguing especially when compared to the second panel…

Maybe it’s just unfolding itself like that girl from The Ring.

Maybe the creature is made up of conjoined toothbrushes? If you blow it up it’s made of straight lines with rectangular bumps in the middle.

Wally keeps his eyes open!

Definitely looks like a Marx-era ditto man. Copy that.

Nope, not creepy. Not creepy at aaalllll….. Wally’s eye twitch just became a bit more pronounced.

Panel 4 – I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

It looks to me like a balloon animal.

I would run and scream.

My thought was that it was a ditto man, using its shadow to make a picture as a communication to Wally.

Maybe this is only the beginning. Maybe the Toothbrush Army is on the march.

There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.

Maybe it’s some form of Darwinian? [/obscure game reference] XD;

They are trapped in that world since the doctor’s colleagues broke the machine generating the gates. Unless they can get Wally tout help them?

I wonder if all the pictures on the pillars are actually Dittos waiting for someone like Wally.

Is that someone turning into a toothbrush?
