The world would be a better place if people mirrored the virtues of the characters in this strip such as showing compassion, forbearance, kindness, etc. If the butterfly, Jonas and Louie were people I can easily hear an onlooker telling the butterfly to take a hike. But Chip has Louie being patient and kind to the butterfly knowing that Louie and Jonas know full well where the dog park is. Louie allows the butterfly to feel validated, useful, that he/she matters. I am still impressed with the life lessons and values taught to us through the characters in Overboard. I do read other comics but this one is the only one I acknowledge in my profile. I will always be a fan of this strip who sincerely appreciates the clean humor. I adore the characters. I also appreciate it’s creator Chip. This delightful strip makes me smile, laugh and for a moment forget the negative things in this life that can sometimes so easily weigh us all down. THANK YOU CHIP FOR OVERBOARD! :-)
