I used to have a priority list of jobs. Now I have a non-priority memory of the things I should probably get around to pretty soon now. I like this system a lot better, but admit it’s only possible because the government sends me a check every month whether I work at anything or not. I should have retired DECADES ago!
This past month has been a blur during this lockdown. If I was not working from home on-line I would have trouble telling the days apart and the new normal makes it an oddity to actually get in the car (to shop at Publix or Winn Dixie or support the local restaurants which are trying to stay afloat with take out services )and get out of the house for anything but a walk with the dog. Goals, wow, I guess just hoping that we as a world have some degree of normalcy again in the future. One plus, we sure a hell are not making such a carbon footprint anymore if you look at media reports from places that normally are choking on their own soot and smog.
Our family’s routine hasn’t changed under stay-at-home. My husband and I have been retired for awhile now and we do what we’ve always done. My two adult sons, who still live with us, both have essential jobs and go to work everyday. I’m kept pretty busy doing all the cooking and cleaning and laundry.
I have a desk calendar that has a place to write your monthly goals. At the beginning of April I wrote “Still be alive on April 30.”
I really have to say, having been “retired” for a number of years now, that aside from minor inconveniences, this quarantine hasn’t appreciably changed my routine or lifestyle.
I still exercise every day, read either on my tablet or laptop, do projects and chores around the house, keep in touch with the world on my computer, watch the local news of television, and enjoy my wife’s companionship. I’m completely content with this!
His principal probs are porcine/ his person is far from pristine/ perhaps there is hope/ if you hand him some soap/he’ll be quarantined – BUT he’ll be clean.

For most of us in self-quarantine, that’s the start.
Also add, (1) remember what day it is, (2) survive with housemate(s).

My goals for the day these times are to get out of bed and go to the sofa.

That’s my goal….one day closer to the end of this. Just need to get through it. Sleeping longer helps.
