At least the tree didn’t eat it like one of Charlie Brown’s kite-eating trees would!

The tree spit out the ball. Tasteless and hard.

I’d only complain if the lie was worse than what I would have gotten with a drop and a penalty stroke. And I don’t even play golf.

Do you think the cartoonists ever read these criticisms and adapt?

    Golf: a good walk, spoiled.

(The excellent “quote investigator” site has just informed me that that saying was almost certainly not coined by Mark Twain).

An unverified fact: the only reason golf is shown on TV is that it has a loyal following. Almost anyone who plays the game will watch it on TV and more importantly, buy the golf-related products advertised during the broadcast.

However, there has to be a reason that it has never been broadcasted over the radio like other sports.

I can believe that there is a whole cable channel devoted to it. What next? The Chess Channel?

Take what stroke? No penalty for hitting a tree. And as already pointed out the blonde guy hit the ball.

That never happens. The trees’ job is to deflect balls into the pond, rough, adjacent fairway, or very deep in the forest.

Apparently, that tree is not hungry for golf balls. It must be the ancestor of Charlie Browns kite trees.

Since he didn’t hit the ball, I seriously doubt it seriously.

Yes, you’re right… and that wasn’t a ‘shank’ (left to right shot), it was a ‘hook’ (right to left shot)

If it goes left it’s a hook, if it goes right it’s a slice, and if it goes straight it’s a miracle.
