Mmmmkay? I guess he’s telling us that the debt is as awful as the pandemic? Or is he just saying “yeah, one caused the other”?

While the cost would still have been high, it wouldn’t have been as bad if Trump hadn’t fired the pandemic response team, hadn’t ignored the intelligence reports and HAD started facing up to the situation much earlier.

2.2 to 6 Trillion dollars added, no big deal. Well except for the corporate cut of that.

Republicans are concerned that some of that money will not go to the richest.

Have you heard the latest ignorance and stupidity from our great leader in the Dark House after he and Americans were advised by medical professionals to wear face mask. “Well I’m not wearing one”

Where were you when the Republican House/Senate/President passed the Tax Cut and Spend Scam? That took the legs out of any potential tools we could use to combat a real crisis.

Where was your debt concern when 45* gave away tax cuts to the rich he so desperately wants to be accepted by? Even now he’s talking more about helping corporations than the citizens, even the ones who voted for him.

So you want them to reinstate a fairer tax level on the wealthy? That’s what started the rising national debt under trump…

Since you look back to that Shining Era of the 1950s, you might also look at the tax structure.

Our Congress has fallen into such a bad habit of “just putting it on the tab” whenever there’s an expense. Right now we are in a time of public crisis and we have to pay unimaginable amounts of money to get us out. ..So Congress has just “put it on the tab”.

When this crisis has passed, those of us who didn’t need the money to live should help out by covering the tab for those who did. That’s how we do it in America .. we help each other out. Taxes should be raised proportionately to pay to repair the crisis. Why should our unborn children pay for it ?

Perhaps tax cuts for corporations that were already making record profits weren’t the best idea. Who would have thought? But it’s all good, Trump told his wealthy friends at Mar a Lago “you all just got a lot richer” when they passed.

So how did the national debt get so large the last few years before covid-19?…in a period that was supposedly very prosperous? The national debt goes up in prosperity and crisis. Either something is wrong with the system, the people running it, or both.

No, it’s not considered debt if it feeds corporations endless supplies of unregulated funds while you suffer with something that won’t pay the rent for a month or two.
