Time to “unfollow” this one……

#stayathome , Lio! You used to be a rather bright kid but now, I wonder… At least Heart doesn’t play the covidiot card.

Soon this will be the Halloween costume of the year and everybody will think it’s very clever and no one will be offended. Stay safe and wash your hands and keep your distance. Things must be getting better there’s going to be a march on Lansing tomorrow the protest everyone having to be quarantined. So it must be getting safer. ;-) I hope no one there gets sick.

This jumps the shark, humor at the expense of incredible suffering. hmmmmmmmmmmmm….

What I really don’t understand… Mark also draws for “Heart of the City” now his reference to the virus there is relevant and non-sick (I know that’s not the word… but I can’t think of a better one… hopefully everyone will understand what I mean)… But “Lio” really is sick… too soon and upsetting…

I don’t understand the comments here lately. Lio has always made light of death and the fears surrounding it:

Just this past January, he implied that Calvin, of Calvin and Hobbes, had died in the snow after sledding off into history on their last strip.

Yes, certainly real people, people we know, are dying…but humor is a legitimate response to all aspects of the human condition—and this strip has always mined the macabre for humor.

Not letting any disease get in the way of his pursuit of Eva!

It’s amazing to me how a comic strip or TV show can spend years as edgy or hilarious until it shocks or offends you, then it’s “never watching this again.”

Liö, your mask might protect your nose and mouth, but the virus cap is kinda close to your eyes! (And, yeah, I’m very much in the ‘laugh yourself sick while docs work on ways to prevent your really getting sick’ camp.)

I’m guessing that the loss of his mom set Lio down his morbid path in life.

We can laugh or we can weep. Much better to laugh; if you weep people look at you funny.

He is positively pushing the edge lately. Ehhh. As an over 60 with asthma its worrying, but I still enjoy Lio, and smile. I do have to puzzle out them sometimes though like today.

Article headline the other day: “Crying in your car is ok if it gets you through”, or something like that. Anybody with loss or heartache just need to put this on the shelf for a while.

I liked this strip but I have a brother in long term care home. It’s not funny. Maybe in ten years sure, but not right now. Unlisting this. I don’t want to look at the funny pages with this in it.

Still dozens of hearts amid all the objections, I see.

I will neither condemn nor defend this latest arc, but I will say one thing: “Too soon” is kind of a red herring. If Mark had waited until the pandemic was very much over, the COVID-19 jokes would be too late.

Ya gotta admit one thing girl, he does have some interesting friends.

I just think that it’s too soon to make fun of Covid-19. We don’t know what’s going to happen. Most of us are just living day to day hoping that we can return to work soon and live a normal life again.

While Hitler was killing millions in the holocaust Charlie Chaplin was making fun of him in The Great Dictator. How insensitive. You have to laugh at your enemies, especially when their power is at its peak.

Not good on so many levels. Yes it is a killer far worse than influenza. Why would he do this to Rose?

Lio is pushing Theatre of the Absurd to its limits. My guess is that Eva Rose is not so much impressed as angered. Kinda like some posters here….

My sense of humor goes from slapstick to the darkest end of the spectrum. But this just makes me feel deeply disappointed in Lio. As strange, mischievous, and wicked as he can sometimes be, I don’t believe Lio would ever do this. It’s out of character.
