I’m looking at this “break” as a vacation from the daily grind and getting great ideas on how to keep busy. Let’s see, …hmmmmm, oh yeah, there’s my Lap top, my cell phone, oh, and my iPad, tv, iPad, TV,……………Angry Birds,……eat, cook, iPad…..
Apple (I own a little of their stock but none of their devices) has created the perception that they are better, exclusive, and incompatible with the other member(s) of desktop/mobile computing device market. So strong is the perception that they can charge more (snob appeal?) for sometimes lower-performing hardware/firmware/software as few will bother to do comparisons. The “walled garden” approach while perhaps easy for users but limiting in enterprise systems where it requires workarounds. And most of the “original” functionality of Apple products can be attributed to Doug Englebart’s 1968 “Mother of all Demos” which Apple then copied/implemented as Microsoft did eventually too. It’s always easy when you are shown the way … such that even college dropouts can become billionaires if they simply implement another’s truly disruptive ideas.
It was the people who lived through the great depression who created Social Security and public health programs because they saw what a disaster it was.
Perhaps the current out of work generation threatened by a pandemic will begin to understand how government socialism works and stop voting for the government destroying Republican liars thieves deniers and vulture capitalists.

I agree that Apple hardware is overpriced, but it sure is easy to use… as long as you think the way they expect you to think.

If we’re having another depression, we’re gonna need another Woodie Guthrie.

They are so simple, they are actually really hard to use. No sarcasm intended.
