Seems like fresh fish and odd casseroles are a major portion of dinners at Wallace’s home, neither of which would improve upon being reheated in a microwave.

I’m surprised his mom doesn’t cook on a wood stove. She seem like the back to nature, old fashioned type.

But she does order pizza, so there’s that.

Amelia’s most difficult task is to get her head around the idea that anyone would ask Spud for a sleep over.

No microwave in my home, no blowdryer either! Spud would be spit out of luck,

Ok, I already see Crookedwolf doesn’t have one, but it’s 2020 for goodness sake! And I do way more than just reheat things in the microwave. It’s a basic appliance for most homes these days.

I can attest that Spud’s solution works and indeed is one of the classics of hotel-room cookery. Place yesterday’s pizza on top of the steel coffee tray and heat the underside with the room’s hair-dryer (don’t use direct hot air unless you want pizza to taste of burned hair). The alternative of using the clothes iron may be faster, but …

If I had gone to that elementary school I would have been seriously traumatized by the sandworm on the playground.

For years I saw no need to have a microwave, but once I got one it’s indispensable . I felt the same way about home computers and smart phones too.

My children aren’t old enough for a sleepover yet, but I would think it EXTREMELY annoying if a young charge would wake at midnight and then proceed to make itself a snack that required heating up…

Spud, Cold pizza is the greatest thing in the world

1, not a thing wrong with cold pizza. 2, pizza – any bread – in the microwave gets hard and inedible.

I wouldn’t trust Sterling around a microwave. If I want to reheat pizza, I use a skillet on the stove or a toaster oven but I wouldn’t trust Sterling around those either.

Nothing wrong with cold pizza.

Um, Spud? You can eat cold pizza. Good pizza is delicious hot or cold.

I’d think the lack of a microwave would be the least of Spud’s concerns. Falling asleep in the same room with Sterling would be terrifying. But maybe that’s why he can’t sleep and needs a midnight snack.

Cold pizza is something to look forward to! It’s a delicacy in itself!
