Go now and look at the actual curve. You may find it on the Johns Hopkins covid-19 dashboard. Click on the US in the left hand sideboard. It will show you the current data and in the lower right corner it will display “the curve”. If you click the box’s upper right corner gizmo, you will get a full screen image. THAT is the “curve” for the whole US.

I point this out so you will know what you must prepare yourself for – NOT to panic you. Panic happens when you know there is a threat and the government – the toady part of the government – is lying to you. It is proper to be frightened, but it is suicidal to panic.

I think there’s about a 1% chance. No, lets be fair. I think there’s a 5% chance that he has a clue what “flatten the curve” means and a 1% chance that he understands why it’s a good thing. Because, of course, nothing about it makes him feel or even look good.

I think “Ignore” would be more accurate.

It would be much better if the resident had the support of 90% of the electorate instead of 49%.

It’s bad enough suffering with the Orange turd’s normal unending bullrap. Now his insanity could cause the speedy death of hundreds of thousands, likely more with his " Easter basket" reopening of commerce and disdain for social distancing. Who knew that rethugicans would support someone that thinks the “black plague” was crime in Chicago? Now they can root for the guy that’s going to get alot of them dead.

I guess he figures that people should just die and get out of the way of the economy as fast as possible.

Right now, the US is on a definite upswing and no end in sight – nor will there be as long as #45 wants to get business going “by Easter” – a significant date, not because of his nonexistent religiosity, but because he is losing money at all his golf and hotel properties.

He’s run into an “enemy” that can’t be bullied, reasoned with, bribed. He can lie and prevaricate all he wants about its course but, with as most other things, he’s blowing smoke out his a*z. In this case, the consequences could be catastrophic.

OMFG, Seriously, let’s be clear here, this is what the Republican party have come to: ‘let’s genocide the elderly’ to save the wealthy? Is this the government of the United States or North Korea? To every trump supporter that is old enough to be a grandparent (& lets face it in states that are trump’s base that age could be what 32?), the diehard #MAGA supporters, & willing to show us Liberals just what you are made of, your resolve, your diehard support & willing to die for your beloved orange messiah, I think you should all show us the way!

But you should all do it fast, show us up. You should all gather in your local town square, save yourself a lot of suffering, make a huge batch of Kool-Aid with cyanide & drink it. I’m rather surprised no one’s marketing these yet (that I know of, anyway).

I just took the Billygoat advice and visited the John Hopkins interactive map. As I clicked down the countries of the world, the results were all similar. The large majority of countries are on an upward curve of virus infections. A very, very small number of countries have flattened their curve, China being the leader. With safe practices we can get there. I don’t think going to work by Easter is going to fill that bill.

We are still in the process of designing and making the tests necessary to detect this virus and also those who were infected without symptoms. It takes time to do such work, and simply announcing that we are getting on it doesn’t make it happen (a lesson in reality that the orange Disaster has not learned). We rare just gearing up to make the equipment and supplies necessary to handle the patient load looming over us. Last I read, the major companies retooling for this effort expect to have things produced by June—-again a delay in saying something needs to be done and actually being able to get it done. We’re going into a real carnival ride here, and it isn’t going to be pretty.
