Unlike the other SARS viruses, SARS-CoV-2 is a killer unless we let it die by not letting it spread. We should stay home and avoid passing it on to others. It needs bodies to survive.
We cannot count on it dying completely, but we need to contain the damage until we know enough to produce a vaccine. We should all have been working on getting a better general handle on coronaviruses after SARS and MERS, but as emergencies wane, so does the funding for such research. This time we really CAN’T let that happen.
