In the current socio-politico-economic situation, we are freezing out each other. I have had friends for longer than 50 years, and we no longer feel warm and fuzzy toward one another.
Like an ice cube every time you crush, break, or beat on them, their friendship gets smaller. It’s one thing if it’s a mutual venting about problems, but when you wear them down, eventually they may disappear.
