It looks like Frazz rides a Cervélo in his triathlons. I love my old P2.

Wow, we just got hit by lightning. Anyway, I can almost feel sorry for the news media with 24/7 airtime and nothing “new” to report. Comic writers to a lesser degree with lead time etc. ; but still …

Most people on a “diet” are eating off their regular diet and not by their first choice. Nobody does a triathlon because of a medical necessity or an allergy. Mallett or the person who used to write the strip is better than this weeks-long play-on-words.

Most people “on diets” are eating foods they don’t like instead of foods they love in the hope of losing weight, lowering their sodium intake or avoiding allergens. Thus talking about food isn’t pleasant for them. Most vegetarians, vegans and athletes are doing things they love & care about and find it hard to resist the urge to blather about their passions.

Funny, your constant talk implies no embarrassment at all.

Again, confusion about what “diet” means. Everyone is on a diet because a diet is simply what you eat. So-called “diet” foods, like soda, usually refer to low-calorie foods. And the kid is very wrong to say that there are no low-calorie foods that taste calorie-rich. That’s what low-calorie sweeteners are all about. And many, many people on certain diets love to talk about their diets. I’m surprised by Mallett on this one.

People like to feel they “sacrifice” and “suffer for their own good” when they eat healthy.

Note, whatever you eat that is your diet.

Jef Mallet’s Blog Posts:Frazz14 hrs · In the time this episode was waiting in the pipeline, I think I’ve refined my perception to where it’s people on diets in general who don’t like to talk about diets. But if that diet has a name, or, more accurately, a brand, it’s going to be right up there with triathlon in the talk-about-it-a-lot-o-sphere.

As for the vegetarian meat substitutes, I have to admit that some of them are truly amazing. The Impossible Burger really does taste and behave like meat. Other brands will do a pretty good job as well, and some of them that aren’t really burgers so much as beans and grains mushed into a burger-like shape are also tasty, and maybe even more so for their realistic ambition to be shaped like a burger and that’s close enough. But here’s the thing, or at least here’s my opinion: Any of those options, including burgers actually made of meat, can be made even better by what? By piling them high with all sorts of vegetables.

Check it out. I didn’t talk about triathlon much at all.
