I stopped in a small town one Sunday night. I needed a break and thought I’d have a nice meal. The place was crowded and they were all watching “wrestling” and cheering wildly. As soon as the show was over they all left.
Pro Wrestling may be "mere"entertainment, but they must be some of the most fit and flexible athletes ever to perform. I am with Wirepunchr, I would never get in the ring with any of them.
Professional Wrestling is exactly like politics. Carefully scripted, meticulously rehearsed, outcomes ordained, and over-the-top-personalities. But there is one difference; the result of a wrestling match does not entail life or death to either the participants nor the audience.
After all the sound and fury of a Pro-Wrestling match, there is little change in your life. However, political kabuki, unfortunately, has real-world implications.
Pro wrestling is a microcosm of real life. You have the “good guy” who obeys the rules and tries to do what’s right, versus the “bad guy” who breaks any and all rules in order to get ahead. Politics is nothing but “bad guys”.
When Jesse Ventura ran for governor of Minnesota the general consensus was he was leaving a business full of corruption, turncoats and phonies for ….. Figured it was a natural fit.

I do believe that Pro Wrestling has referees. I have yet to see referees in politics. All you can do is change the “players” at voting time.

I consider wrestling as staged entertainment. Saying that I still wouldn’t get in the ring. I’m not that physically fit. (Or stupid.)
